Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 7 Apr. (Press Europa) –

The Public Company for Social Housing and Infrastructure of the Canary Islands, SAU (Visocan) has crafted a comprehensive strategy aimed at enhancing coexistence, safety, and facilities for its two developments located in Añaza, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with a planned investment of approximately two million euros in the forthcoming months.

This initiative encompasses a project for the refurbishment, repair, and compliance with regulations concerning the two garage levels of both buildings; the employment of security personnel available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, alongside the continuation of social intervention projects that have been in place with the tenants since 2021.

Specifically, the improvement and repair works on the facilities of both properties will concentrate on garages and storage areas, ensuring they not only regain their practicality but also conform to current standards.

This initiative, which signifies an investment of 840,000 euros, aims to enhance access to the developments, modernise electrical, plumbing, and counter facilities, as well as update water and electricity meters, as detailed by the company in a statement.

Since acquiring these two blocks containing 358 homes in 2019—with a squatting rate of 10.3%—Visocan has spent over 800,000 euros on repairs of facilities and communal areas, which have faced ongoing vandalism.

Concurrently with these undertakings, and following the resolution of the public tender, Visocan has engaged a private security service expected to bolster safety in the communal spaces of both buildings.

Indeed, just last week, contracts were formalised with the successful companies amounting to a total of 700,000 euros.

This initiative further includes the installation of a closed-circuit camera system, bollards at garage entrances, and sensors with alarms at the access doors.

Moreover, in response to Visocan’s commitment to enhancing interpersonal relations and community involvement in both developments, a collaboration agreement has been renewed with the NGO International Cooperation since 2021 for the execution of community and social intervention projects.

This agreement—which also entails an investment of around 130,000 euros annually—has facilitated community volunteer initiatives and support for educational and employment training targeted at residents and their families.
