Santa Cruz de Tenerife 7 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, acknowledged on Monday that the residents of the Rural Park of Anaga are “exasperated” with the traffic congestion occurring in various areas, particularly at Cruz del Carmen, and expressed her hope that the measures regarding waste management will help alleviate the situation.
In remarks to reporters, she revealed the Cabildo’s intention to acquire plots of land to establish deterrent car parks in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna, while simultaneously cautioning that this process cannot be completed “instantly.”
The Tenerife president stated that her governing body has proposed the most initiatives, such as the involvement of the Canary police to manage traffic and parking at the “most critical” locations.
She noted that the Minister of Roads, Dámaso Arteaga, is investigating various actions that can be implemented both in the short and long term to address vehicle congestion, emphasising the importance of “balancing” the lives of local residents with those who wish to visit this protected natural area.
