Young entrepreneurs Cristina and Félix Paredes have embarked on a new chapter in their thriving professional journey with the launch of The Posta Cuesta. After several years leading the optician services in San Matías, recognised for their attentive service and excellence in visual health, they have decided to expand their operations with a new headquarters.
What is the company’s vision for growth in the future?
Félix Paredes: We aspire to grow in a sustainable and responsible manner, extending our services to more communities while maintaining our core values: an attentive, refined, and meticulous approach. We aim to move away from impersonal models and provide a personalised experience that melds innovative technology with genuine human connection, all without increasing costs for our patients.
What inspires you during this new phase?
Cristina Paredes: For me, the most rewarding part of this journey is witnessing the impact our work has on people’s lives. Being able to support them, understand their needs, and contribute to their well-being carries immense responsibility but also a great deal of excitement. This new opening invigorates us and propels us to continue championing our model.
What sets your optical service apart from others in the marketplace?
Félix Paredes: Our strength goes beyond just technology or facilities; it lies in our philosophy of practice. We focus on attentiveness and empathetic advice, offering customised solutions that genuinely make a difference. We provide accessible and competitive services while nurturing a trusting relationship with our patients, a connection that larger chains struggle to replicate.

Regarding the origin of the project, are there any individuals you wish to acknowledge on this journey?
Félix Paredes: I must mention the pioneer of this venture, who embarked on our journey in San Matías over 20 years ago: our mother. She has always been by our side, offering guidance and instilling confidence in every step we take. I also want to acknowledge our father, who continuously motivates us to believe in our vision, and although he prefers to remain in the background, I cannot overlook my older brother, David, who is a crucial pillar of this project. His involvement and support have been indispensable throughout our journey. Cristina and I recognise that without his backing and example, this project would not be viable.
Who have been the crucial figures in this new launch?
Félix Paredes: We have been fortunate to surround ourselves with excellent individuals, all friends, who have contributed their talent and dedication. Sergio Hernández managed the construction project, Javier Cenzual provided legal counsel, and Alejandro Melián from the Essilor brand played a significant role in the equipment installation. The refurbishment was also carried out by Roberto and his son Jonathan, who worked diligently to ensure everything was flawless. We are very grateful.
Lastly, do you have any forthcoming plans you wish to share?
Cristina Paredes: Yes, if everything proceeds smoothly and this new model operates as we anticipate, we have already identified the location for another upcoming branch. The future will depend on how this phase unfolds. However, if we notice that people continue to appreciate our personalised and professional approach, we will undoubtedly continue to pursue expansion.
