SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The island group Sí Podemos Canarias in the Tenerife Council has filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office for “two alleged irregular hiring” committed in recent years by the Tenerife Medical Institute (Imetisa), a public company owned by the island corporation.

The purple formation states in a note that after requesting the files corresponding to these contracts, they were not provided, so they went to the Transparency Commissioner to make this situation known.

After that, “said control body agreed with our political group and we proceeded to report these facts to the Prosecutor’s Office, since there are no pertinent selection files and everything indicates that, presumably, these hiring were carried out without complying with with legality “.

Sí Podemos Canarias recalls that “these files were processed under the presidency of Ricardo Melchior, from CC, as president of the Tenerife Island Council and, therefore, head of Imetisa in those years”.

The island group criticizes the political irresponsibility that has existed for years with the management of Imetisa, “being one of the public companies of the Cabildo that has monopolized the biggest scandals for alleged irregularities in recent times, with a former manager who was appointed by hand during the Presidency of CC and that he acted as if he were the owner and lord of this entity “.

Now, thanks to his work and audit work, “it has been possible to bring all this information to light.”

Likewise, Sí Podemos Canarias recalls that it has been demanding for months from the Government team that an investigative commission on Imetisa be established in which all the political groups of the institution are represented, which is in charge of investigating the facts that led to the dismissal of the ex-manager as well as the rest of his management, “in order to be able to clarify whether there was any criminal conduct committed.”

POPULAR ACCUSATION IN THE ‘NAP CASE’

On the other hand, Sí Podemos Canarias announces that it has appeared as a popular accusation in the judicial case of the ‘NAP case’ for its “commitment to get to the bottom of this alleged corruption that involves both businessmen from this island and public officials who have passed through this council or are still present in the corporation today. “

The group declares that it is going to put all its “effort” to clarify the events that occurred in this case in which public companies and the money of all the citizens of Tenerife were allegedly used “to benefit the pockets of a few interested parties.”

“We know that it is not interesting for our group to be present in this judicial process, since some of the investigated parties are trying to exclude us from it, and for this they have appealed our character as a popular accusation, which gives us more reasons to go ahead and demand that justice purge all pertinent responsibilities “, they point out.

Thus, they insist that they will “assert” their “supervisory role” in each and every one of the actions of this judicial case.
