The bathing zone of The Puddles along the coast of Valseco (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) will remain temporarily closed due to ongoing maintenance work at the facility.
This decision follows an assessment conducted by the Health and Laboratory Service of the Tenerife Health Area of the Canary Health Service (SCS), which identified multiple deficiencies that necessitate intervention.
Among the issues noted are problems with the lighting in the accessible toilets, alongside the urgent need for comprehensive cleaning of paths leading to the bathing area, which have become slippery due to accumulated algae on the ground and walls.
The presence of rust on the railings has also been reported, highlighting the necessity to either reinforce them or replace them in certain areas to ensure user safety.
Cleaning activities and repairs to railings and stairs have already commenced. Additionally, there has been a swift request for the resolution of electrical issues. The closure will be lifted once all concerns have been addressed and safe access to the area is assured.
The reopening of this bathing zone is anticipated as soon as the required measures are finalised.
