Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Canary Islands Government announced on Thursday that all non-university educational establishments in the Islands of Tenerife, La Palma, and La Graciosa would switch to remote learning due to the declaration of maximum alert for strong winds and alerts for coastal phenomena issued by the General Emergency Department of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion, and Water.
Educational staff must conduct their teaching duties from home, provided they have the necessary resources to do so. In instances where transitioning to remote learning is not feasible, educational activities will be suspended, as confirmed in a statement by the Ministry of Education of the Canary Islands Government on Wednesday.
Both alerts will take effect at midnight on Thursday and will remain in place until further notice. Thus, this measure may be extended in the coming hours, depending on the progression of the weather conditions.
