The Second weekend of April marks one of the most significant gastronomic events in the archipelago, particularly for fans of cheese. Over 30 cheeses from the eight islands will be showcased by farmers and producers for two days in the North of Tenerife, in a venue featuring activities for the entire family, tastings, and exhibitions related to the rural lifestyle.
The XIV edition of this regional cheese gathering will take place on April 12 and 13, running from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitors can look forward to more than 30 cheese varieties and nearly a hundred stands displaying local products, including wines with Denomination of Origin from La Orotava, Canary Island artisanal beers, and traditional crafts.
Among the activities scheduled are children’s workshops, guided tastings, presentations, and an exhibition of native Canary Island breeds, featuring donkeys, black pigs, cattle, sheep, camels, bees, pigeons, chickens, goats, dogs, and various birds. There will also be opportunities to interact with the Garafiano Pastor Dog, the Majorero dog, the Lobito Herreño, and the Palmero mouse, alongside competitions and exhibitions showcasing sports protection.
The event programme will also feature a special contest focused on the Canarian dam, paying homage to goat José Domingo González Cabrera, alongside educational workshops and a folk twin celebration between groups from Tenerife and Lanzarote. A tribute will be extended to Ruth Lozano Rodríguez, the driving force behind the Insular contest for Tenerife cheese and a regular collaborator of the event.
At the festival, the results of the 12th Insular Contest of Quesos de Tenerife Pinolere 2025 will be announced, occurring a day prior at the House of Wine.
Early tickets are available via the Tickety platform. Attendees who present two entries at the venue will receive a complimentary cheese wedge as a gift.
