The Municipal Group of Canary Coalition in Adeje regrets that the government group “has not eliminated various municipal fees and public prices” of the 2021 budget that is now ending, as well as “the discount of other taxes.” The purpose was “Exert less tax pressure on neighbors”. The nationalists regret that none of the amendments and proposals that they raised at the time have been incorporated into the local accounts this year, «initiatives that would have meant economic benefits for the population of 1,176,000 euros “.

Among those proposals that the governing group did not contemplate, CC cites the abolition of fees that represented an approximate saving of 121,000 euros, that of public prices (5,000 euros) and the bonus of 900,000 euros, so the repercussion or impact on the budget of income would have been 1,026,000 euros. It was also not taken into account, explains the spokesperson, Oliver Tacoronte, a direct subsidy of 150,000 euros to the primary sector, “Which denotes a lack of sensitivity on the part of the socialist government towards our farmers, ranchers and fishermen.”

Specifically, the Canarian Coalition proposed the elimination of various local taxes, such as the fee for issuing documents, for occupation of the public road with a terrace, for a farmer’s market stall, for occupation of a public road with a kiosk, car-taxi ford per unit, car and year, by possession and circulation of animals and by license of autotaxis. In addition, they proposed the elimination of public prices for the activities of Youth and Seniors and the Summer University. Likewise, CC requested that taxes such as that of vehicles with mechanical traction be reduced, applying a discount of 50%; in addition to incorporating a budget allocation of 150,000 euros in direct and specific grants aimed at SMEs and the self-employed in the primary sector.

“None of these proposals was taken into consideration by the local government led by Rodríguez Fraga,” says Tacoronte, who recalls that “the budget project for next year 2022 has not yet been presented, when other local administrations have.” .

To offset this amount in the budget, the Canary Islands Coalition required the local government to reduce the surplus or to use the remnants or liquid funds that the City Council has in banking entities, together with the suspension of fiscal rules for this year 2021 .

The nationalist spokesman assures that “as an administration and faced with this extraordinary situation, we should make a greater effort, eliminating, exonerating or subsidizing rates, public prices and taxes, in order to exert less fiscal pressure on our neighbors, as well as on our companies and freelancers ».

In this sense, Óliver Tacoronte stressed that, “given our dependence on the tourism sector, we must directly and decisively support other sectors of our municipality as the primary sector.” As a way to do this, it proposes “a specific subsidy line, with the short and medium term objective of encouraging, promoting and facilitating entrepreneurship to incorporate new generations into such a relevant and vitally important sector.”
