The Granadilla City Council of Abona revealed yesterday, five days following the vote of no confidence against Jennifer Miranda (PSOE), the establishment of its new municipal administration. This government comprises 10 council members from the Canarian Coalition, 2 from Vox, and 1 from the Popular Party, under the leadership of José Domingo Regalado (CC). The governmental organisation is divided into eight heads of the mayor’s office along with two special delegations.

Marco Antonio Rodríguez (PP), who previously held the mayoral role alongside Miranda, will continue in this position, overseeing the areas of public services, works, environmental concerns, and beaches. The second mayoral position is taken by José Gregorio Sanabria (Vox), who will be responsible for Civil Protection, emergencies, modernisation, new technologies, the primary sector, complaints, suggestions, and citizen engagement.
The third mayoral position and the areas of Security, Urban Planning, Contracts, and Animal Welfare will be handled by María Candelaria Rodríguez (CC), while the fourth position, which includes Economics and Finance, Economic Development, Social Services, Housing, Health Promotion, and Sports, will be under Rubén García (CC).

The fifth position, overseeing tourism, the elderly, equality, and diversity, will be managed by Eudita Mendoza (CC), while Raquel Morales left (CC) will take the sixth position, which encompasses education, youth, community engagement, transparency, accessibility, and consumer issues.

The seventh mayoral position and the area of culture, festivities, communication, artistic heritage, and institutional relations will be assumed by Carlos Abismael Díaz (CC). Meanwhile, the eighth position, covering internal regulations, personnel, employment services, local development, and mobility, is assigned to Carmen Delia Mesa Cabrera (CC).

The framework of the new municipal government is finalised with the special delegations focusing on artistic heritage and sports, appointed to Ramón Fredi Oramas (CC), and on complaints, suggestions, and citizen participation, held by Adaisy Arias (Vox).

The mayor, José Domingo Regalado, stated yesterday in a press release that he embarks on this new journey “with great enthusiasm” and with a government that “will collaborate closely with other administrations and the public to transform Granadilla into a progressive municipality.”

The councillor further remarked that “we will serve the residents of Granadilla and the Grenadilleras. We aim to enhance the internal structure of local administration to deliver improved public services, and we are committed to advancing the projects that have been neglected over the past two years.”
