This weekend, the Christians celebrated two significant events as part of their International Carnival 2025, including the daytime carnival and the Drag Queen gala. Both occasions saw an impressive turnout, with attendees reveling in a diverse array of performances from both national and international artists on Friday and Saturday.
The daytime carnival featured a lively agenda that showcased performances from artists such as Joseph Fonseca, Arodi Llanos, Pepe Benavente, DJ Fabrizio, Wamampy Orchestra, Harmony Show, K-Nanaries, Edwin Rivera, Morocho, and a tribute to Frankie Ruiz, among others. The activities unfolded across various venues throughout the commercial streets, including Plaza de la Pescadora, Plaza de la Iglesia, Paseo Marítimo, Plaza de la Alpispa de los Cristianos, and the open commercial area of Los Cristianos.
The costume contest took place from 7:00 p.m. at the Plaza de la Pescadora, featuring categories for children, adults, groups, and couples, with a multitude of participants bringing vibrant colour and creativity to the occasion.
The evening continued with the traditional XI fiesta, which traversed several emblematic locations within Los Cristianos, awarding the Óscar Hernández Awards for the most original, most horrifying, and most extravagant costumes.
The Night Verbena concluded the events with performances from the Harmony Show and Wamampy orchestras, while the DJ area kept the energy high with DJs including Renzzo the Selector, Pablo Barrios, Budi, NATO, David Pérez, Iván Alayón, Samuel, Carlos Delgado, and Javi Plasencia.
On the preceding Friday night, one of the most anticipated highlights of the International Carnival of Los Cristianos took place: the Drag Queen gala. This spectacular show drew a large audience of various ages and nationalities, who enjoyed a celebration of creativity, music, and choreography.
The gala featured performances from artists such as Drag Quiron, Drag Hocklin, Orgasmic Drag, Dita Dubois, Drag Armek from the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2025 Drag Queen gala, Drag Grimssira Maeva, Lady Blue, and a standout performance by Sharonne. The event was hosted by Drag Sethlas and Yanely Hernández.
The Friday verbena also attracted a significant audience with performances from lively orchestras and Band machinery. Concurrently, the DJ area, situated in Plaza del Pescador and Valle Menéndez, showcased sets from DJs Carlos Delgado, Fabrizio Salgado, David Pérez, Pablo Barrios, and Muse Groove. On Friday afternoon, the Carnival of Los Cristianos also featured a dance for the elderly, held in the courtyard of the Cultural Centre of Los Cristianos.
