Laia Grassi Discusses Artificial Intelligence in Tenerife Amidst Relationship with Risto Mejide

Laia Grassi, the new partner of the renowned television presenter Risto Mejide, will be delivering a talk on artificial intelligence this Thursday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The 37-year-old creative advertising director is one of the speakers at the Santa Cruz Technological Innovation Forum, which this year has prominently featured women involved in cutting-edge technologies.

The Grassi talk is scheduled for this Thursday at 18:45 at the Museum of Nature and Archeology (Muna) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Laia Grassi will explore practical examples during her presentation titled Innovative Woman, showcasing how artificial intelligence, big data, and Blockchain – a technology that enables secure and decentralised transaction recording and sharing – can address global challenges from the Canary Islands.

Only a month has passed since the end of his previous relationship with the Madrid actress Greece Casta, and Risto Mejide has quickly found affection with Grassi, the Creative Director of Catalan Artificial Intelligence in Advertising.

Laia Grassi’s visit to Tenerife’s capital has taken place just days after their relationship with Risto Mejide came to light, the popular Spanish television presenter, author, and publicist with considerable media influence who currently hosts the programme Everything is a Lie on Channel Four.

The 50-year-old presenter has become a source of fascination for gossip columns due to his fluctuating relationships, as highlighted by an article in the Sport newspaper, part of the same editorial group as the day. On occasion, his personal life has stirred considerable controversy, primarily due to the age gap. Recently, the Barcelona publicist made headlines following a heated exchange with the mayor of Badalona, Xavier García Albiol, regarding his views on squatting.

Risto’s most discussed relationship was with Catalan influencer Laura Escanes, whom he married and with whom he welcomed a daughter named Rome in 2019. However, after seven years, they mutually decided to part ways, with the Catalan stating in an interview post-split that “there came a time when we were no longer happy, neither he nor I.” Following that, Risto embarked on a romance with the Madrid actress Greece Casta, although this relationship came to an end just over a month ago after a brief four months.

He has now started a new relationship with Laia Grassi, who, like Risto Mejide, shares a deep passion for the advertising industry. Grassi has collaborated with major multinationals such as Coca-Cola, Skoda, and Volkswagen, although the pinnacle of her career includes over 35 awards for her professional achievements.

As seen on her LinkedIn profile, she currently serves as Creative Director of Advertising and Generative Artificial Intelligence, a sector of new technologies that, as Grassi herself describes, “harmoniously blends my love for imaginative storytelling with avant-garde technology.” Her company operates out of Andorra.

On her Instagram account, which boasts over 86,000 followers, she frequently shares posts related to marketing, showcasing campaigns she has been part of or others that pique her interest.

This social media platform also highlights her appreciation for art. Additionally, she maintains a website titled ‘Laia Grassi Art’ where she features her more creative pursuits.

Furthermore, Risto Mejide’s new partner possesses a literary side, as reported by 20 minutes, having written four children’s stories focused on emotion management. This is yet another aspect they share, as Risto is an author of multiple books in both essay and novel formats. He has also given presentations for Google and participated in high-profile forums discussing advertising and current trends.

Several celebrity publications have released photos of Risto Mejide and Laia Grassi holding hands, seemingly affirming their romantic involvement. One such outlet, Ten Minutes, captured them together in Madrid. “Risto Mejide and Laia Grassi are among the new celebrities of 2025, and while they have not publicly commented on their relationship, it seems unnecessary,” writes the magazine, adding: “One only has to observe the affectionate gestures they exchanged, walking arm in arm, with her hand resting on his arm, and the expressions shared between the artificial intelligence expert and Risto to realise their happiness together.”

This Thursday, Laia Grassi will showcase her expertise in artificial intelligence in the capital of Tenerife at the Santa Cruz Technological Forum, which commenced on Tuesday but will host its most significant events in the coming days, expecting substantial public attendance as seen in previous iterations.
