Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 24 Mar. (Europa Press) –

Firefighters from Tenerife stationed at the parks in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Güímar, along with volunteers from the Güímar Fire Brigade, were called into action during the early hours of the morning.

Additionally, personnel from the San Miguel de Abona Park were mobilised around midday on Sunday to assist an individual who had fallen from a two-metre wall adjacent to the main road.

Moreover, the Isora firefighters were summoned on Saturday by the Local Police at 1:00 p.m. due to falling metal sheets caused by gusty winds on Chasna Street. Upon arrival, they safely removed the debris and secured the area.

On another note, crew members from La Laguna Park were deployed on Saturday to address the incident of several fallen trees.

The first incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on the TF-21 road in Las Mercedes.

Upon arrival, they discovered that a tree had collapsed onto the power lines, prompting them to disconnect and cut the cable to clear the roadway.

They also partially cleared the fallen tree and informed the electric and telephone services to restore the supply.

Subsequently, shortly after midday, another tree obstruction on the road known as God (Guamasa) led to the activation of teams from Laguna and the Tegueste Volunteer Fire Brigade who, alongside the brifor, worked to remove the blockage and reopen the road.

Güímar Park personnel were also called out on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. to extinguish a rubbish fire on Batayola Street in the Aroba Barranco.

Furthermore, firefighters from La Orotava Park were deployed on Saturday night, around 9:00 p.m., to deal with an oil spill at kilometre 5.5 of the TF-21, beneath the Florida roundabout, which posed a danger to vehicle traffic.

On Friday, at 1:00 p.m., teams from San Miguel Park were activated to rescue a motorist involved in an accident on a rough access track in the Olas mountains.

At the scene, they determined that medical assistance was necessary and requested an air evacuation using a SUC helicopter.
