The Plaza de la Concepción is set to host a vibrant day of activities and amusement this Saturday, March 22, in celebration of International Happiness Day, organised by the Department of Social Welfare and Quality of Life at the City Council of La Laguna.
The schedule, taking place from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, encompasses workshops, live music, zumba sessions, children’s activities, and various initiatives aimed at enhancing emotional well-being and mental health.
The event will commence with lively animated characters greeting attendees. At 10:30 AM, the first morning performance will take place, presented by the Haberfeño Habemus Theatre Group. A complimentary zumba class will begin at 11:45 AM, highlighting the positive effects of physical activity on mood and mental well-being.
The musical line-up will feature the papina at 12:30 PM, followed by a performance from David Pérez at 1:15 PM, concluding with a tribute to Futura Radio at 2:00 PM.
Additionally, various interactive and creative zones will be available, including painting stations, mural displays, benches adorned with colourful cardboard flowers, a themed photo booth, and the ‘Smile Seeds’ workshop, aimed at promoting mental health.
International Happiness Day was established by the United Nations Assembly on June 28, 2012, and is observed every March 20. The day acknowledges the importance of emotional well-being as a universal goal and its connection to the holistic development of individuals.
