The residents of Garachico have been surprised during the early hours of this Friday, December 24, by the strong waves that began to hit the maritime avenue around 2.30 hours and continued during the early hours of the morning.
There was only material damage, including several vehicles that were parked in the area despite the fact that the signs prohibited it.
The mayor of the municipality, José Heriberto González, has indicated that the road is closed and there is no plan to open it today.
