The Ministry of Health of the Government Canary yesterday found 2,957 new cases of Covid-19. The total accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 125,835 with 21,595 active, of which 54 are admitted to the ICU and 301 remain hospitalized. In the last hours, the death of eight people was reported, two in Tenerife and six in Gran Canaria, between 58 and 92 years old. All of them had previous pathologies and remained in hospital admission. The Accumulated Incidence at seven days in the Islands stands at 610.03 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 868.54 cases.

Tenerife added 1,855 cases with a total of 62,320 accumulated cases and 12,987 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 45,819 accumulated cases, 766 more than the previous day and 5,975 active. Lanzarote added 161 new cases with 8,574 accumulated and 767 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 6,416 accumulated cases, with 84 new cases and 1,462 active. La Palma adds 57 new positives so it has 1,610 accumulated and 264 assets. El Hierro adds 15 new positives, so its accumulated are 527 and it has 48 active cases. La Gomera adds 19 new cases, so it has 566 and its assets are 90.

Until yesterday, 2,620,521 diagnostic tests had been carried out, of which 19,086 were carried out until noon yesterday.

In total, 373,156 booster doses have already been given by staff of the Canary Health Service

The vaccination teams of the Canary Islands Health Service administered 23,126 doses of vaccines to the pediatric population between 5 and 11 years old, this means that 16.89 percent of that age group has already received the first dose. In addition, vaccination of the entire population continues, which requires one, two or a booster dose. In total, 3,659,379 doses had been administered as of Wednesday night. In the Archipelago there are already 1,747,441 people who have received at least one dose, which represents 83.30% of the target population in which boys and girls between 5 and 11 years old have been included. In addition, until yesterday, 1,684,838 people had been immunized who have already received the complete vaccination schedule, which represents 80.32 percent of the target population of the Archipelago.

Groups from 1 to 7 (residents and health and social health personnel of residences; health personnel; large dependents and main caregivers; vulnerable people; groups with essential functions such as teachers and policemen and people with very high risk conditions) and 9 (population with ages between 50 and 59 years that already reached that percentage) are already vaccinated with two doses between 99.5 and 100%. 373,156 booster doses have been given (indicated for those over 50 years of age; those who were vaccinated with AstraZéneca, with Janssen, and for health personnel of Primary and Hospital Care; social health workers in centers for the elderly and disabled; inmates in care centers for disability, high-risk patients and those receiving treatment with immunosuppressive drugs.
