Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 15 Mar. (Europa Press) –

A surfer was airlifted on Friday by a GES helicopter after being struck by a wave in a location that is hard to access at Wolf Beach, in the municipality of La Laguna, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.

The incident took place at approximately 4:47 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operations room received a notification regarding the occurrence, prompting the immediate activation of the necessary emergency resources to respond in the area.

Prior to the arrival of the rescue helicopter, firefighters and local police officers were able to stabilise the individual, who exhibited signs of moderate incomplete drowning and multiple bruises at the initial stage of treatment.

Following this, he was transferred via helicopter to the airport, where a medical ambulance from the SUC transported him to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
