The Buenavista del Norte City Council has temporarily hired 16 unemployed people through the local administration improvement agreement, co-financed by the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE) with 212,255 euros. The municipal contribution has been 67,186 euros. The contracts have been carried out within the framework of Extraordinary Social Employment Plan for the period 2021-2022.
The Councilor for Local Development, Vanesa Martín Évora (SSP), highlights that “this type of measure is necessary in a municipality like ours, where job opportunities are scarce. This program will alleviate an important demand, helping many families ». In addition, he underlines “the effort involved in opting for this type of project, we are obliged to make adjustments in the budget to cover the municipal contribution. They are plans that we cannot give up, becoming a clear bet of this government in terms of employment.

This initiative will give temporary work to five agricultural laborers, two sociocultural animators, a sports monitor, two home health care aides, five cleaning workers, and an administrative assistant. Their contracts will last for six months.
The actions to be carried out cover different areas such as environmental recovery in parks, squares and gardens; social and health care for dependent people; the offer of cultural and sports activities that will take place over the next few months; the revitalization of libraries of the different population nuclei; cleaning municipal facilities, and direct attention to citizens.
The Buenavista del Norte City Council, through the Department of Employment and Local Development, will allow access to a temporary job to a total of 32 people, since in June 2022 another 16 unemployed are expected to start of this municipality to cover different municipal services.
