The leader of the Socialist Group, Nira Fierro, has strongly criticised the President of the Government and General Secretary of CC, Fernando Clavijo, regarding the motion of censure that has been endorsed by the nationalists, along with PP and Vox, in the Granadilla City Council.
“He is willing to strike a deal with the devil to secure the mayoralty,” she remarked to the president during the concluding day of the ‘Debate on the state of nationality,’ labelling it a “true shame” that the nationalists are collaborating in governance, for the third time in the islands, with the “fascist far-right.”
She stated that motions of censure have become a “fully normalised tool” within the democratic framework that must be “respected”, but she emphasised that it is “not normal or acceptable” for a political entity that identifies as “nationalist and progressive” to align itself with Vox.
Following this line of thought, she highlighted that Clavijo “defines his actions” and positions himself “to the right of the right,” while also admonishing that he should feel “ashamed” to ascend to the speaker’s podium to advocate for the rights of women or migrants when he is entering into agreements with Vox.
