Santa Cruz de Tenerife 13 Mar. (Europa Press) –
The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) has announced today the commencement of the Public Information period for the dossier pertaining to the declaration of Cultural Interest (BIC) for the sculpture by Juan de Ávalos, situated at the junction of Anaga Avenue and the Rambla de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
This process is conducted in compliance with the verdict issued by the Contentious-Administrative Court number 3 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife on 28 June 2024.
The judicial ruling mandated the initiation of the file following an appeal lodged by the Association for the Research and Protection of the Historical Heritage San Miguel Arcángel, as noted by the Cabildo.
The Corporation emphasises that as part of the standard procedure for these files, reports and opinions were solicited from various entities specialising in heritage and the arts in September 2024, including the University of La Laguna, the Autonomous Agency of Museums, and the Official College of Architects of Tenerife, La Gomera, and El Hierro.
Additionally, the initiation of the procedure was communicated to several institutions and organisations associated with cultural heritage.
With the gathered documentation, a 15-day hearing period is now open, allowing interested parties to submit comments and provide further documentation.
Furthermore, a 20-day public information period commences, starting from the day following the publication in the BOC, enabling any individual or legal entity to review the file and make any observations they deem necessary.
