Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 8 Mar. (Europa Press) –
Two individuals sustained injuries this Friday following the crash of a two-seater paraglider at the base of the Barranco de la Vera, Las Cañadas del Teide, in La Orotava (Tenerife), as communicated by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.
The incident took place at approximately 1:24 p.m., when the 1-1-2 control room received an alert regarding the occurrence, prompting CECOES to promptly engage the necessary emergency resources to respond to the scene.
Initially, the two individuals were attended to by members of the immediate response team (ERIE) from the Red Cross, who provided initial medical aid before their transfer via GES helicopter to the North Tenerife airport, where the SUC dispatched two ambulances.
At the outset of the assistance, one of the injured individuals presented with a serious fracture in a lower limb, while the other sustained moderate polycontusions.
Upon arrival at the airport, they were assessed by the medical team of the SUC ambulance and were subsequently transported to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC).
