Santa Cruz de Tenerife 7 Mar. (Europa Press) –
An 86-year-old hiker of French descent was airlifted this Friday by a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Canary Islands Government (GES) after experiencing a medical issue on the Roque del Conde Path in Adeje (Tenerife), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:16, when the 1-1-2 control room received a notification requesting medical assistance for a hiker who was incapacitated due to a health concern, prompting CECOES to swiftly activate the necessary emergency resources to respond in the vicinity.
Consequently, a GES helicopter was dispatched to the location and, after rescuing the individual, transported them to the heliport of the Adeje Fire Brigade, where an ambulance from the SUC awaited.
Upon arrival, SUC medical personnel provided care to the affected individual, who was initially in a moderately serious condition, before transferring them to Hospiten Sur.
