La Chasnera gas station never disappoints in the south of Tenerife

Far from the usual data for almost a decade, The largest prizes distributed by the National Lottery Christmas draw left 380,000 euros in the southern region of Tenerifes, a figure that increases to 780,000 when adding the 400,000 euros shared by 16 workers from Dinosol Logística, based in the Valle de Güímar Industrial Park. Via La Palma they received this award, which corresponds to 86148, the jackpot acquired with three-tenths of as many numbers. Without discounting the 20% that the Treasury will retain, each of the beneficiaries will obtain about 25,000 euros.

The morning started well in the La Chasnera Service Station. Even workers who were out of shift made an appearance to enjoy the most special day of the year at this gas station. At 8:24 minutes the children of San Ildefonso sang 92052, the first of the prizes drawn from the drums and the first of the eight fifths. The first 12,000 euros (amount that corresponds to two tenths) that distributed this emblem of fortune that is the gas station of the González Group, located at kilometer 54 of the South Highway of the island. Curiously, the morning ended at the venue, distributing the 48,000 euros (the sum of the eight-tenth prize) from the last prize in the draw, the eighth-fifth (number 89109).

Shortly before 12:00 hours, Almudena, from the delegation in the Tenerife province of the State Lottery and State Gambling Society (Selae), arrived at La Chasnera. His mission was to place the posters with the numbers graced up to that moment at Miguel González’s gas station: 42833, 91179 and 92052 (later, 89109 would arrive). The absence of Luis de Monti, Selae delegate until the 2020 draw was impressive. So much so that the silence lasted for minutes. “It looks like a funeral,” was heard. The moment coincided with the departure of a lady who was leaving the gas station happy because “I got the Christmas basket”, the one that dodged the service station bar.

The passing of the hours.

The hours of Christmas Lottery draw they passed with the presence of the clientele who regularly come to refuel, to buy a tenth, to have breakfast or to drink coffee. Of course, the presence of journalists increased in proportion to the delay in appearing the jackpot balls. The arrival of the mayor of Granadilla de Abona, José Domingo Regalado, coincided with new awards: the two fourths, the third and Fat, sung at 11:12 am. But luck, this time, did not want to stop in Granadilla de Abona as much as nine years ago. That created discouragement.

Until the cider and confetti appeared. “This year has been a little less, but we distributed quite a few prizes and we continue to give joy amid so much bad news,” reflected José Ángel González, manager of the service station and son of Miguel González. «It is true that 2020 was a very bad year, we have come back a little bit in 2021, but we did not reach the 2019 numbers or as a joke. Still, we are very happy, “he assessed without discovering how much the Christmas lottery sales amount to. “We will know at the end of the month.”

The worst data.

The figures support this reflection. In the 2020 draw, the La Chasnera Service Station distributed 1,092,000 euros in prizes, being the worst year in sales. On this occasion, luck reduced the total amount of the prizes by 852,000 euros, to 240,000, which makes the current year the worst in the distribution of fortune. But optimism is a house brand. “We have been alternating the sales of Christmas and El Niño tenths for two months and from this afternoon (yesterday) until Three Kings Day there is no rest,” says a José Ángel González who has to search to point to 2016 (with 1,155. 000 euros awarded in prizes) as a year “a bit lazy”. But even that makes a positive reading, because “then came 2017, 2018 and 2019 with the Gordo and several awards.”

The others.

But the South received 140,000 euros more in prizes yesterday. In addition to “the South door”, as José Ángel González defines the gas station that his family owns at kilometer 54 of the TF-1, the 42833 (fourth prize) also left 80,000 euros in two other service stations, the which is located in the vicinity of the access to the Adejera town of Callao Salvaje, where two tenths were sold, and in Los Moriscos, located at kilometer 44.2 of the same South Highway at the height of Abades (Arico), thus as in the Viña del Mar Shopping Center, in Costa Adeje, both with a tenth.

The remaining 60,000 euros that the region received yesterday correspond to the 89109 ticket, a fifth prize sold in Las Galletas (Arona).
