The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has sanctioned alterations to the list of positions (RPT) at the University of La Laguna (ULL) for the establishment of 49 new academic posts.
This initiative aims to bolster research and teaching expertise whilst enhancing the universities’ capacity to meet the increasing demand for education and the challenges associated with knowledge, as reported by the Executive.
The positions established at ULL, arising from the public employment offers of 2022 and 2023, are allocated across various fields of study, including areas such as social psychology, cellular biology, computer science and artificial intelligence, audiovisual communication, and preventive medicine, among others.
This action complements other recent efforts by the Canary Islands government to reinforce public universities within the archipelago.
Just last week, the Governing Council approved the formation of 113 posts for Assistant Professor Doctors at the University of La Laguna and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This is part of the scheme to integrate teaching talent and researcher María Goyri, with an investment of 14.8 million euros projected until 2028.
Additionally, 47 posts for Associate Professor Assistants have been established at ULL, aimed at fortifying healthcare services associated with academic training.
