The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, via the autonomous agency for events and recreational activities (Oafar), has commenced the voting period for the theme of Carnival 2026 this past Saturday evening.
Similarly, options available for selection for the upcoming carnival edition include Latin rhythms, Hollywood, myths and legends, and Asian pop culture, as stated by the municipal authorities.
The public consultation will be conducted through the website www.carnavaldetenerife.com and will remain open until 23:59 on Friday, February 28, at which point the Carnival will take to the streets of the city.
In order to prevent duplicate voting, the electronic system will implement a filter, ensuring that only one vote from each IP address is counted.
The announcement of the 2026 theme is scheduled to take place on Sunday of Piñata, March 9, in the Plaza de la Candelaria, just prior to concluding the activities of Carnival 2025 with the customary fireworks display.
