Cayuco Docked at El Hierro: 55 Migrants Rescued, Including Woman and Child

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 20th February. (Europa Press) –

Maritime rescue teams this Thursday escorted a Cayuco to the port of La Restinga, in El Hierro, which had been found 7 miles off the island, carrying 55 individuals of sub-Saharan origin, including a woman and a child.

Following the identification of the vessel, the Maritime Rescue Centre activated the Salvamar Acrux, which subsequently escorted the Cayuco safely to shore, according to the national agency.
