Santa Cruz de Tenerife Announces 26 New Openings for Local Police Force

The Official State Gazette (BOE) has announced the resolution from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council regarding the selection process that will provide 26 new positions for the Local Police. Consequently, a period of 20 working days commences for candidates aspiring to these roles to submit their applications.

This opportunity arises from the positions outlined in the regulations for 2022 and 2023, as stated by the City Council.

The Councillor for Citizen Security, Gladis de León, emphasised, “A city as open as Santa Cruz, with its unique features as the administrative capital; a hub for commerce; notable tourist recognition; an entry point for cruise ships, and a diverse array of events throughout the year; requires a suitable police force to address all these aspects, and that is precisely our aim.”

“We are continuously striving to augment the police personnel, and with today’s announcement, we have initiated the selection procedure. The guidelines, prerequisites, and details pertaining to both theoretical and practical assessments are outlined for those wishing to join our Local Police,” said the Councillor for Human Resources, Technology and Citizen Attention, Dávila Purification.

This process commences with its publication in the BOE, guiding applicants through the phase of the opposition, the subsequent selective training course, and the compulsory practical period for those who successfully navigate to the conclusion.

The selection process includes physical assessments (horizontal jump, arm flexions, aerobic endurance, and adaptation to an aquatic environment), in addition to psychotechnical and knowledge tests, featuring both theoretical and practical exercises, a language examination, and a thorough medical evaluation.
