Two off-duty Civil Guard officers apprehended two men, aged 32 and 35, in Playa de Las Américas, situated in the south of Tenerife, who are believed to have stolen a wallet containing 300 euros from a pair of tourists.
The Civil Guard announced on Thursday that the officers acted promptly, resulting in the arrest of both individuals and the recovery of the stolen cash along with various documents belonging to the victims.
Additionally, the moment of the theft was captured on video.
Among the officers was a member of the National Police of Romania, who is currently on a Service Commission in the Southern Tenerife area as part of the Safe Tourism Plan from the Secretary of State for Security.
The arrested individuals were handed over to the National Police, which is responsible for taking the necessary actions as the criminal incidents occurred within their jurisdiction and subsequently presenting them at the Court of Instruction in Arona.
