Coalition of Tacoronte repudiates the “socialist coercion” to the mayor

Canary Coalition of Tacoronte publicly rejects “the coercion” of the PSOE to the tacorontero mayor, Daniel Díaz (Nueva Canarias), For which he did not attend last week the meeting of councilors opposed to the direct aid of the Cabildo de Tenerife to the municipalities, and which Díaz also criticizes. CC denounces “the mistreatment” of the island council to the municipality in the budgets for 2022. Díaz clarifies that, despite the pressure, he is not going to break the government pact that his party (Nueva Canarias, 4 councilors) forms with the PSOE (5 councilors) and Yes you can (2). “I’m just defending the tacoronteros,” he clarifies.

The CC spokesperson in the municipality, Álvaro Dávila, criticizes the “outrage by the Island Corporation with the distribution of investments and subsidies.” He insists on rejecting “the coercion” that the mayor of the municipality, Daniel Díaz, has received from the PSOE “so as not to express his disagreement with the accounts for next year.” For Dávila, “we are facing practices more typical of other times than of democracy.” «The mayor has every right in the world to show his discomfort because they are mistreating us. The reality is that Tacoronte does not receive a single euro from the Cabildo investments in 2022 and much less from the subsidies to hand, “said the nationalist.

For Dávila, «It seems that Tacoronte does not exist for the PSOE and I am afraid that everything comes from an internal political issue of the socialists ». And he ironically: «It is not that in the distribution of investments and subsidies there are municipalities of first, those of the PSOE, and of second, those of CC and the rest of the parties, but that Tacoronte is of third or preferred. It is outrageous and we cannot be silent in the face of this outrage, “he emphasized using a football simile. From CC, he adds, “we show our predisposition to defend the interests of Tacoronte and give stability to a municipality that is being mistreated by the PSOE.” “Our sole interest is the well-being of our people and we need investments to be made to improve the quality of life. We have been denouncing the abandonment suffered by Tacoronte by the Cabildo for some time and the mayor will have us by his side to defend the interests of the more than 24,000 people who live here, ”concludes Álvaro Dávila.

The mayor of Tacoronte, Daniel Díaz, from Nueva Canarias, clarifies that «There are no reasons to break the pact nor does it generate any incompatibility with our partners to express the discomfort for not being well treated in the Cabildo’s budgets for next year”. Díaz points out that “I don’t see any insurmountable difference between one thing and another.” “I am here to defend the interests of the tacoronteros, who chose me for that. And the best way I see to do it is to maintain the government of and criticize what affects our neighbors. “I have no intention of breaking a government pact that gives stability to Tacoronte, nor do I have news that other partners have that intention. At least, until now, “concluded Daniel Díaz.

His party, Nueva Canarias, confirmed in a statement the coercion that Díaz suffered and that led him to absent himself from the press conference of the rebel mayors on Wednesday. NC defends the autonomy of Díaz to criticize the distribution of aid from the Cabildo.
