Santa Cruz de Tenerife 14 Feb. (Europa Press) –

Rayco García, the second largest shareholder of CD Tenerife, who aims to succeed Paulino Rivero as President in the upcoming weeks, has released a statement on Friday expressing his “complete trust” in justice and describing himself as a victim of a “defamation campaign” that he is suffering “unjustly.”

After appearing for the second time before the Court of Violence against Women number 1 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife regarding an alleged crime of coercion in the context of gender-based violence, the judge dismissed the precautionary measures sought by the complainant, noting that there were “no rational indications of criminal responsibility,” as noted in the statement.

According to García, the judicial decision acknowledges an “obvious business conflict” with the family of his former partner—who is the granddaughter of another club shareholder and a former vice-president—which he considers a “decisive” factor leading to the filing of the complaint last Tuesday and his subsequent arrest by the National Police.

He also expressed his disappointment over the leaks of information and recordings surrounding this case, which he asserts compromises both the National Police and the Justice System, claiming that it is driven by “illegitimate interests.”

Additionally, he expressed his gratitude for the supportive messages he has received in recent days and offered his full cooperation to justice to help resolve the investigation in which he is involved.
