The deputy president and tourism advisor of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Lope Afonso, paid a visit to the Chamber of Commerce of Malaga on Friday, where he emphasised the “inspiring” role of the chamber, renowned for fostering business development.
Afonso was welcomed by Paloma Moreno, the deputy president of the Chamber of Commerce of Malaga, during a meeting aimed at enhancing the relationship between both regions and establishing shared goals in areas such as tourism, digitalisation, and economic diversification.
Throughout the discussion, Afonso underlined Malaga’s position as an “inspiring model” for entrepreneurship and conveyed his intent to “utilise the experiences developed here to bolster economic growth and overall wealth.”
In this context, he pointed out that Tenerife shares significant attributes with Malaga, particularly the importance of the tourism industry.
“This visit enables us to leverage the Malaga model to diversify our offerings, while also advancing through technological innovation and cultural initiatives,” added Lope Afonso in a note dispatched by the Cabildo.
Meanwhile, the deputy president of the Malaga Chamber noted the “privilege” of serving as a benchmark for Tenerife.
“Malaga has emerged as a reference point in recent years, thanks to its dedication to the business sector, growth, and innovation. Hosting visits like this and sharing the initiatives we undertake at the Malaga Chamber of Commerce is a true honour for us,” stated Moreno.
