The Science and Technology Park of Tenerife (PCTT) and Incyde Foundation closed their entrepreneurship programs, in which 90 people participated. At the event, they signed three new collaboration agreements to continue with the training and employment activities for young people next year. The first includes four training itineraries aimed at young people under 30 years of age, within the Youth Entrepreneurship Itineraries Program (PIEJ); with the second, three training and support actions will be carried out within the Operational Program for Employment, Training and Education (Poefe); while the third will promote the holding of two youth forums, New Employment Sites (NYE).
This day also served to learn about the most representative projects that have been developed during the Entrepreneurship, digital marketing and branding programs; Entrepreneurship and blockchain; Entrepreneurship and cybersecurity and Entrepreneurship in circular economy and ODS.
Specifically, the initiatives presented were Guayota Coffee Roaster, by Andrea Karina Graiño, which consists of a specialty coffee roaster and cafeteria; 18 grams, by Francisco Javier Pérez, which proposes a coffee bar with roasted coffee in the business and online sale; Tilin idea, by Salvador González de la Cruz, a project that makes plastic waste useful by transforming it, through 3D printing, into urban furniture that will incorporate blockchain technology; MP Asesores estéticos, by Carmen Mercedes Padilla, with which it is intended to offer online advice on beauty and aesthetics, complemented with virtual and face-to-face classes; and Plantarina, prepared by Glauce María Lima de Oliveira to disseminate innovations, research and social trends in which plants are the main axis.
The closing and signing of agreements was attended by the insular Minister of Innovation, Enrique Arriaga placeholder image; the general director of Fundación Incyde, Javier Collado; and the CEO of the Science and Technology Park, Raquel Lucía Pérez Brito.
Arriaga indicated that «the main objective is to train the population in new technologies, as well as to promote the creation and consolidation of technology-based companies on the Island, a important source of employment». Javier Collado thanked the support of Council to Incyde Foundation to work towards job creation. For her part, Raquel Lucía Pérez highlighted “the success of participation in these training programs” and announced that PCTT is considering expanding shifts in order to respond to the demand received.
These programs have been co-financed by the European Social Fund, through the Incyde Foundation and the Science Park.
‘Neighborhoods for employment’ facilitates almost 1,200 job placement
The Barrios por el Empleo program: Together for Tenerife facilitates the labor insertion of 1,178 unemployed this year, which is 352 more than the 826 who got a job in 2020 through this initiative. This is one of the data from the annual balance that the area counselor, Carmen Luz Baso, advanced after visiting the Añaza, Ofra and La Laguna nodes, managed by Cáritas and in which she held a work meeting, at which The director of the NGO, Juan Rognoni, also attended. The budget increased more than one million euros, to add 3.9 million, “with which we have managed to reach a greater number of people who were in a difficult economic and social situation derived, in many cases, from the pandemic” . In addition, this year it joined the Sinpromi program, to attend to the cases of people with severe disabilities who require a very specific specialization. The project has attended and provided personalized guidance and support to 4,474 people to access the labor market, compared to 4,006 last year. More than half of these participants, some 2,581 people, have received specific training and some 209 carried out non-work internships in companies.
