The Compensation Board of the Partial Plan El Mojón and the Arona Town Hall They resume negotiations to try to unblock the situation of the urban development zone most important of Canary Islands. The ownership of this land decided to paralyze the legal proceedings that it launched against the Aronera Administration in order to advance in that line.
The announcement was made by the mayor of Arona, José Julian Mena, during the extraordinary plenary session held on Monday and ratified by the Presidency of the Compensation Board, for which this measure is a reflection of the new frame in which both parties develop their dialogue.
Since March 26, Miguel Villarroya Adell has presided over the El Mojón Compensation Board. General Director of Spring Hotels, the objective of his arrival to the Presidency of the management body of the partial plan was “to unblock the bureaucratic situation to get the City Council to accept the urbanization and we can start the projects that comprise the plan.” The current situation responds to this objective and to the analysis made by Villarroya: «We are aware that this type of decision is not easy, but we have been with a horrible lot at the entrance of Los Cristianos with immense possibilities. We are confident that the situation will resolve itself from one moment to the next. There are technical criteria that come from different urban interpretations, but we have created a space to dialogue and explore solutions ”.
On August 17 of last year, José Julián Mena signed the resolution through which he rejected the receipt of the urbanization works of the Partial Plan el Mojón, in Los Cristianos. The measure motivated a recourse by owners of the partial plan that fell to the Contentious-Administrative Court number 2 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The technical reports were negative due to the location of the firefighter station, the connecting walkway between the two parts in which El Mojón is divided and correcting the objections made by the technicians to adjust the urbanization of the two parks with the project. Today, this dispute is on hold.
