Five Arrested, Including Two Minors, for Tourist Theft in Puerto de la Cruz

National Police officers have apprehended five individuals in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) following an assault on a tourist.

The incident took place when a 53-year-old German man was returning to his hotel in the area. He was approached by five individuals who stole various items from him and inflicted injuries, resulting in an episode of anxiety.

The victim received assistance from a National Police patrol, who summoned medical help while gathering details regarding the identity of the robbers.

Following the victim’s account and the statements of witnesses, a search operation was initiated to locate the attackers, according to reports from the National Police.

In collaboration with the Local Police, private security personnel, and the assistance of the public, the alleged offenders were identified at the local Guaguas station.

Specifically, the group consisted of five young individuals, two of whom were minors, alongside a woman who, in addition to robbing the tourist, had also vandalised a food vending machine at the same station.

Upon their arrest, officers discovered several stolen items amongst their possessions, including the victim’s identification documents and mobile phone, which were subsequently recovered.

The five apprehended individuals were placed at the disposal of the appropriate judicial authority.
