Discover the Vibrant Dance of Cueca in Tenerife

The cueca is also performed in Tenerife. It is not exclusively a dance of Chile, as sung by the chalchaleros – Argentinians from Salta – and many others thereafter, from María Dolores Pradera to our Sabandeños in a symbolic journey. This is akin to the experience of the nearly 4,000 children from the Andean nation – many holding dual nationality – who dwell on the island. They come from all walks of life, as stated by the consul since July 2022, portuense Rafael Montero; ranging from scientists to labourers and entrepreneurs to those engaged in service industries or caregiving, particularly for the elderly or individuals with dependencies.
