Leaders of the Canarian coalition have designated this Saturday as a “priority objective” to integrate artificial intelligence into the management of TF-5 queues. Additionally, they proposed expanding the TF1 lanes from San Isidro to Adeje and adding a third lane on the North Highway between the airport and La Orotava.
At the Political Convention held at the Hotel School, the party disclosed in a statement that since the event was private, the road advisor for the Cabildo de Tenerife, Dámso Arteaga, emphasised the need for implementing access control systems on TF-5, underpinned by intelligent transport systems (ITS).
He opined that this would enhance security for drivers and facilitate a more efficient transport network system, “managing demand, improving traffic flow, and bolstering road safety,” he remarked.
CC has also advocated for fiscal reductions for residents in lower-populated municipalities to counteract the population decline experienced in recent years.
During the discussions, the significance of free public transport was underscored, which has “prevented 33 million journeys being made by car.”
“In 2024, that represents 12 million journeys that have not been undertaken in private vehicles but via Guagua, thanks to our policies,” stated the Nationalist Party.
