The IV Gastronomic Route of the Cabra in the Northeast region returned in 2024 with greater enthusiasm than ever, featuring nine establishments showcasing a diverse selection of high-quality tapas. These creations were savoured by both locals and visitors from various parts of the island, culminating in an estimated total of 2,600 servings sold.
This Saturday, February 1 at 10:30 am, the Tejina farmer market will host the awards and recognition event for the IV Route of the Cabra of the Northeast Region, which had been postponed from December 14 due to a meteorological alert due to rain.
This event, centred around goat meat tapas and its variations, not only celebrated a deeply entrenched culinary tradition within the Northeast region but also fostered a crucial synergy between the primary sector and gastronomy.
The occasion allowed bars, restaurants, and local cafes to showcase their skills in serving tapas that present a harmonious blend of tradition and the creativity of modern cuisine.
Furthermore, it invigorated the gastronomic offerings of the area through the utilisation of local products and produce sourced within close proximity, highlighting the exceptional quality of the Caprino sector in the region during October of the previous year.
The awards ceremony at the farmer’s market will acknowledge the dedication and ingenuity of the participating establishments and also celebrate the culinary richness of the area.
The IV Gastronomic Route of the Goat in the Northeast region has been supported by the La Laguna Commercial (LLZC) Business Association, in partnership with the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (Fauca) and with the backing of the City Council of La Laguna, through its primary sector division.
