The secretary of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, stated on Thursday that his party is working in Arona (Tenerife) to secure a sufficient majority to prevent Vox from joining a minority government alongside PP and CC.
Furthermore, he raised questions regarding the actions of the Canarian coalition that is also part of the minority government in Arona, where the PSOE claimed to hold an absolute majority but later expressed regret that “the group split in two”, a situation he pointed out “should never have occurred.”
Regardless, the newly formed government in Arona, constituted by PP, Vox, and CC, would hold a significant role where Vox is involved.
In conclusion, the Minister of Territorial Policy also recognised that Arona is a “very significant” municipality, with a “clear” tourist influence, and therefore, it is essential to “pursue stability.”
