Canary Islands Soar in Perfume Sales Thanks to Low Taxes

The tax benefits that Canarias enjoys due to its status as an ultraperipheral region and its geographical location render the islands an ideal destination for acquiring perfumes, fragrances, and cosmetics. As these items are deemed luxury commodities, they incur a 15% Canarian indirect tax (IGIC) on perfumes, while fragrances and cosmetics are subject to a 7% tax.
