Spar Canarias delivers a solidarity donation of 32,500 euros for those affected by the La Palma volcano

The group of Canarian businessmen have joined their efforts and solidarity by making a joint donation, on behalf of the entire network of SPAR stores in the Canary Islands, of 32,500 euros for the benefit of those affected by the La Palma volcano. The donation will be channeled through Cáritas Diocesana de Tenerife, who received the solidarity check on Thursday.

The stores SPAR in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma Since last October, they promoted the second edition of their ‘Solidarity Product’ campaign, which ended with a collection of 26,500 euros, destined on this occasion in full to those affected by the La Palma volcano through Cáritas Diocesana. To this collection is added the contribution of 6,000 additional euros, by the SPAR supermarkets in Gran Canaria (Cencosu), which have added their support to this solidarity initiative.

The check was delivered by Heriberto Alonso, general director of the Agrucan group (SPAR Tenerife, La Gomera and El Hierro), on behalf of SPAR in the Canary Islands, to the director of Cáritas Diocesana de Tenerife, Juan Rognoni, at the entity’s headquarters. After the delivery, Heriberto Alonso highlighted his gratitude to “the samples of support and solidarity that we have received both from our clients and from our suppliers, which has allowed the SPAR supermarket chain in the Canary Islands to once again continue to be ‘Always close to those who need it’ ”
