Tenerife’s Teide Shows Subtle Deformations, Drawing Increased Attention

Monitoring of volcanic activity in Tenerife is set to be intensified in the upcoming months following the detection of what seems to be a minor deformation around Teide. “It’s so slight that it falls within the margin of error and is exceptionally hard to identify,” stated Itaniza Domínguez, the director of the IGN, who urged for calm: “We do not anticipate an eruption occurring in the medium or short term, that is, in the forthcoming weeks or months.”
