The Bethlehem was inaugurated yesterday at the CDTCA.

The inauguration of the Adeje chocolate Belén portal took place yesterday and can be visited until January 4 at the Costa Adeje Tourism Development Center.

The portal has been created by the Association of Cooks and Confectioners of the Canary Islands (Acyre) and Rotary Club Tenerife Sur and has the collaboration of the Adeje City Council. El Belén has been made with more than 240 kilos of chocolate donated by Alcampo La Laguna.

For the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, “it is a singular crib, made of chocolate, which also makes a clear reference to La Palma. It has a Christmas dimension and another very important one, solidarity. It is an initiative that, fortunately, is repeated and this year has been strengthened and improved, given the participation of ACYRE and Rotary Club Tenerife Sur, in addition to the companies that have joined ”.

Next, the first mayor of Adejero pointed out that “in sight is the result, the imagination, the artistic quality and the enthusiasm with which this Nativity scene has been created, which will be open to the public throughout the month of December so that people can visit it ”.

Pablo Pastor, renowned chef and president of the Association of Cooks and Pastry chefs of the Canary Islands, explained that “the Bethlehem measures 27 meters long, by two meters wide and has involved more than 500 hours of work, during two months, in which many people, professionals and non-professionals in the kitchen have participated. The result has been this masterpiece that shows teamwork ”.

This year the Bethlehem, apart from its traditional figures of characters, animals and buildings, has a special nod to the island of La Palma.

The portal will have a solidarity purpose, an urn will be placed, in situ, to raise money that will be used in favor of the project A child, A meal, A book, which will be carried out by Rotary Club Tenerife Sur, whose president is Raquel Arroyo, who He thanked the “generosity of the people, companies and groups that have contributed to make this initiative take place.”
