The port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is gearing up for the arrival of 165 cruise ships between January 21 and April 28, 2025, accommodating a total of 201,629 passengers. As per information from the Port Authority, this surge in visitors presents a considerable economic prospect for the city, particularly for sectors like retail and dining.

Some of the distinguished vessels set to dock in Tenerife’s capital include true symbols of opulent cruising. The Queen Mary 2, renowned for its exclusive Planetarium at Sea, will provide unique experiences merging astronomy and maritime tourism. The MSC Opera, with its welcoming and familial atmosphere, is expected to be an enticing choice for various travellers.

Additionally, the Celebrity Infinity will arrive with its outdoor feature, the Rooftop Terrace, which offers a chance to enjoy movies under the stars with spectacular views. The Azura will present exclusive spaces such as The Retreat, crafted to deliver a serene and relaxing experience. Lastly, the boutique cruise La Belle Des Oceans is noted for its exceptional routes to unconventional destinations.

March will notably be a busy month, with 55 cruise ships docking, followed by April with an additional 51 vessels. The final week of March is expected to be particularly hectic, seeing the arrival of 19 cruise ships at the port of Santa Cruz. This uptick in tourist activity will considerably impact the shopping districts, bars, and restaurants throughout the city.

Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Development Society, emphasised the necessity of synchronising efforts to ensure an exceptional experience for tourists. In that context, the City Council has focused on aspects like security, cleanliness, and mobility through the Interdepartmental Tourism Commission, aiming to provide an effective service during the peak periods.

Individuals seeking further information regarding the schedules and specifics of the cruise ships visiting the city can visit the official site of the municipality: santacruzescomercio.com/profesionales/cruceros.
