Revitalizing Sendero Azul: The Journey Along the San Juanito Trail

The Environmental and Consumer Education Association has released the list of trails and paths that have received the Sendero Azul 2025 award. Among the two Canarian locations granted this honour this year is the Costa de Punta del Hidalgo route, commonly referred to as the San Juanito road.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, emphasised that “this iconic path for the municipality has now garnered five consecutive blue trail accolades, illustrating the significant environmental and scenic value of this area.” He further noted, “This new accolade will aid in enhancing efforts to safeguard the biodiversity of the region and to promote accessibility and responsible use, supported by environmental education and ecological awareness for our visitors,” added the Lagunero council leader.
