The adejeros enjoy a 240 kg crib of chocolate and for solidarity purposes

Churches, castles, rivers, murals, houses, bridges, reindeer, Santa Claus, their majesties the Magi, the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, the Child Jesus, camels, horses, bears, dolls, houses, pine trees, towers, Christmas trees, the Star of David … Everything made of chocolate! It is the nativity scene made by the Association of Cooks and Confectioners of the Canary Islands (Acyre) and Rotary Club Tenerife Sur with the collaboration of the Adeje City Council.

It occupies 27 meters long by two meters wide in which more than 500 hours of work have been used in two months to shape the 240 kilos of chocolate donated by Alcampo La Laguna. “Many people, professionals and not from the kitchen have participated and the result has been this masterpiece that shows teamwork”, says Pablo Pastor, cook and president of the Association of Cooks and Pastry chefs of the Canary Islands. Opened yesterday, it can be visited until January 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Costa Adeje Tourism Development Center.

The portal has a solidarity purpose. It has an urn to collect money that will be used for the project A child, a meal, a book, to develop Rotary Club Tenerife Sur, whose president, Raquel Arroyo, thanked “the generosity of people, companies and groups that have contributed to this initiative will be carried out ».

The mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, highlights the uniqueness of this nativity scene, not only because it is made with chocolate, but because it does not also make a nod to the situation in La Palma and it has that dimension of solidarity. “It is an initiative that, fortunately, is repeated and this year has been strengthened and improved, given the participation of Acyre and the Rotary Club Tenerife Sur, in addition to the companies that have also joined.”
