SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18th Jan (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 58-year-old man was discovered deceased this Saturday in the Puerto de Espíndola region, within the municipality of San Andrés y Sauces, on La Palma, according to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
At approximately 4:31 a.m., the 1-1-2 operations room received a call from the Civil Guard requesting assistance in locating a man in the aforementioned area, prompting Cecoes to promptly activate the necessary emergency resources to respond.
Upon arriving at the site, GES helicopter personnel found the lifeless figure of an individual amidst the rocky terrain, with the Red Cross subsequently taking charge of the body and transferring it to land.
Following this, the Civil Guard secured the remains of the individual until the judicial authority arrived, overseeing the related procedures.
A rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government, along with the Salvamar and Helimer Maritime Rescue vessels, personnel from the Red Cross, Anaga Emergency Aid, Civil Protection, and the Civil Guard were all involved in the emergency response.
