Construction of the road that connects Golf del Sur with Amarilla Golf concludes

Costa San Miguel has a new road in service that connects the two traditional centers of the municipality’s coastal strip: Amarilla Golf and Golf del Sur. The mayor, Arturo González, inspected the completion of the works that have cost the City Council more than 300,000 euros and that reinforce the quality of this tourist and residential destination.

The project called Via de union between Avenida José Miguel Galván Bello and Avenida María de los Ángeles Ascanio Cullén (Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf) arises from the need to apply a solution to the crossing of the Barranco del Saltadero, which establishes the limits of the two tourist areas of Costa San Miguel.

The action provides a plus of quality to the tourist and residential destination of Costa San Miguel

The Modernization, Improvement and Increase in Competitiveness Plan of Costa San Miguel (commonly PMM) included references to the lack of connection between the two main roads of the San Miguel coast. The municipal government of San Miguel highlights that from the Consistory it was always considered as an obvious matter that the development of the mobility of both avenues «introduces a significant improvement in the quality of the tourist area, allowing its users greater comfort and, therefore, a closer approach ».

The new way

Mayor, Arturo Gonzalez, shows its satisfaction at completing the proposal that includes the communication of both routes with another created through a new structure. It allows crossing the Barranco del Saltadero through a platform 11 meters wide. This route includes two traffic lanes, one in each direction, as well as a sidewalk on the north side of the new road and a cycle lane on the south side, “allowing pedestrian and cyclist traffic between both roads and in both tourist centers. », Says the councilor. With this, in addition, one of the objectives set by the City Council of San Miguel de Abona with this project is met.

Another aspect on which the government group affects is that with the action carried out it also guarantees the drainage of the waters transported by the ravine itself. The completion of this work began last March, with an execution period of nine months. The execution budget amounted to 326,350 euros.

On the other hand, the Jonay Risco Pérez Cultural Sports Complex will host tomorrow, starting at 8:00 p.m., the traditional Christmas carol festival starring the cultural associations of the municipality. El Escaldón, Amigos de Abona, Guargazal, Magos de Abona, Parranda Aldea Blanca, Chaveta, and erran Rodríguez, accompanied by their group, will perform in this Christmas gathering that will also feature the performance of the Parranda San Miguel, from La Orotava , as an invited group, according to the municipal government.
