The rehabilitation efforts on bridges B and C of the Santos ravine reached the surface yesterday. These renovations have necessitated the closure of a section of Marítima Avenue and alterations to the entry and exit lanes, starting from the Hacienda roundabout, with changes set to continue until the end of summer.

Last November, the City Council of the capital commenced emergency repairs on these bridges due to the risk of collapse, reinforcing the pillars and slabs of the Bravo Murillo, Plaza de Europa, and Marítima Avenue decks to ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians. The project has a budget of €2.3 million and is scheduled for completion within 12 months.

The ongoing works have already caused modifications to the traffic flow entering the city, from the roundabout on San Sebastián Avenue towards Marítima Avenue, which extends approximately 200 meters, rendering the usual four lanes inoperative. A pedestrian area will be established on the seaside of the detour, and the use of bicycles and scooters will not be permitted.
