The Santa Úrsula Town Council (Tenerife) has procured 22 residences currently under construction to allocate them for economically accessible social rental along with their respective parking spaces situated on Tosca de Ana María street in the locality.
According to a statement from the Town Council, these dwellings are intended for individuals and families experiencing economic hardship, supported through funding from the Tenerife Cabildo. This includes one million euros as part of the Insular Active Housing Programme, alongside 100,000 euros from the council.
Juan Acosta, the mayor of Santa Úrsula, emphasised “the dedication of the local government to address the housing dilemma.”
“We are trailblazers in the acquisition of these residences, which reinforces our commitment to the well-being and quality of life of our community,” he noted.
Additionally, he reminded that the prior properties designated for social rental in Santa Úrsula were handed over in 2006.
The newly acquired properties, currently 70% finished, have been taken over by the Town Council and, upon completion, the rental agreements will be administered by the Canary Islands Housing Institute (Icavi).
The projected duration for the completion of the project is approximately 18 months from its initiation.
