For over four years, the Canary Islands has maintained the highest litigation rates across the national landscape, being the community with the most legal disputes in Spain, as per official figures from the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ). The most recent statistics, covering the period from July to September 2024, show that the Archipelago had a litigation rate of 48.75 cases per 1,000 citizens, which is 13.7 points above the Spanish average of 35.68. This figure highlights a significant difference compared to the second-ranking region, the Balearic Islands, at 38.97, which is nearly 10 points lower, and the third, the Community of Madrid, at 38.74.
