Even with the murgas del Norte competition being opened to the entire Canary Islands, it has not been sufficient to fill the ten slots available for the contest taking place on Monday, 17th February and Tuesday, 18th February, culminating in the final on Saturday, 22nd, the week following the event in the capital of Tenerife.
